Mélanie PIERRET - Artisanal Leatherworker & Founder of Bluemane Sellier

Mélanie Pierret is a qualified leatherworker and the creative head behind Bluemane Sellier, a bespoke saddlery based in Labastide-Saint-Pierre (Tarn-et-Garonne).

An artisanal craft focused on horses and movement

Mélanie works leather by hand with precision, combining:

traditional leatherworking skills,
ergonomic reflection on the movement and behaviour of the horse,
eco-responsibility of materials.

She primarily uses very high-quality full-grain vegetable-tanned leathers, natural threads, and sustainable techniques, while ensuring that each piece is repairable and durable over time.

She is a recognised artisan, a member of the Ateliers d’Art de France, committed to the transmission and enhancement of a rare craft.

Before fully dedicating herself to craftsmanship, Mélanie was a quality technician in industry, then trained for the CAP Leatherworker Harness Maker with a strong desire to align her professional practice with her passion for horses.

The Bluemane Sellier workshop does not produce standard series:

Each creation is designed according to the horse's morphology and locomotion,
